These series are composed of 4 articles where this is the 3rd one, for reference you should take a read on the first one as it contains an introduction on why it’s important and how the theory is structured, and how to help plan a career path and create a subjective awareness.
The second article sums up objective measurement, and how projects and goals are achieved and help to validate personal assumptions.
Emotional measurement is to understand if one’s for example values are aligned to the company. Does one show integrity, does one nurture unity, does one inspire others to be better and so on.
These values are perceived by others, a subjective measurement would not be accurate, and therefore is done by colleagues and superiors, every measurement equally valued.
Therefor a Personal Feedback Tool is a perfect fit.
Personal Feedback Tool
A House of Strategy is composed of values supported as its pillars and they hold a vision/direction.
How to structure your Questionaire
Let’s imagine that one of the values being Unity for the company you work for.
Then your set of questions could be:
- Has there been any activity that this person has shown interest in working together?
- How receptive is this person towards new employees
Your measurement should then be defined by these levels
- Not Observed
- Sometimes Observed
- Consistently Observed
- Not Able to Rate
Sometimes there is not enough data to be measured, a person might not have had the opportunity to experience a certain situation. Therefore when a response contains 50% of a minimum of 10 responses of “not able to rate” the data is insufficient to make any assumptions, and therefore invalid and not taken into consideration.
From this, another Radar Diagram can be set up and provide an overview of how the current situation is for that person.
You should also envision what an expected score should be and align the results to Performance Indicators.
For the next article, I’ll talk on how about all of this snuggles together into a strong plan for the future at an individual and team growth.
